Improvements to Inventory Pages
We have improved our inventory UX (Inventory and Product detail pages) to provide consistent, accurate and complete breakdown of your Inventory at Flexport. As part of this, we are introducing a few new terms to better explain your inventory. This article provides an overview of changes and explains how to interpret the new terms. Summary of Changes
We’ve made the following improvements to the Inventory and Product detail page on the Portal
- Provide Total units physically present in the network unlike legacy UI that only provided units available for sale. Total units will now include any units in unavailable states and in-transit totals
- Total units are further broken down into Available and Unavailable Inventory for DTC & Storage (Reserve)
- In Product detail page, further granularity of Unavailable Inventory into detailed states, In-transit units by destination locations and Order processing by stage are provided

Total Units | Total Units physically present in Flexport network, includes inventory available & unavailable in DTC and Storage (Reserve) facilities, units processing for orders and Internal transfer units (updated hourly) |
Available | Real Time Units available for D2C & wholesale orders or to replenish on demand to Flexport's DTC fulfillment network, Amazon (FBA) and Walmart (WFS) fulfillment centers |
Total Unavailable | Units that cannot be used for orders in DTC and Storage (Reserve) facilities. Includes unavailable in facilities, order processing and internal transfers (updated hourly) |
Syncing | Difference in units due to pending system updates, i.e., units to be categorized into appropriate unavailable breakdown upon next hourly refresh |
Unavailable | Units Unavailable in DTC or Storage (Reserve) facilities (includes Receiving, quarantined, damaged etc.) |
Order Processing | Inventory reserved for processing orders in DTC/RS facilities |
In Transit | Units transferring from Storage (Reserve) (through Cross dock) and between Storage/DTC facilities. These transfers are initiated after units are first received at sites and does NOT include new inbounds |

Unavailable - Temporary Facility Closure | Units in sites that are closed for unforeseen conditions like bad weather, power outages etc. |
Unavailable - Under Investigations | Units actively worked upon to assign appropriate inventory states/putaway, e.g., cancelled shipments, missing units marked by pickers. The units will be added back to Available states with in two working days |
Order Processing - Processing | Units reserved for orders and actively picked at sites |
Order Processing - Ready to Ship | Units in the staging area at sites and ready to be shipped out |
