Current Behavior
When an order ships from Flexport, we send the tracking number/URL for this order back to the integration so that the customer can follow the order as it ships to them.
For WooCommerce, Flexport sends this tracking number by updating the Customer Notes field for the order in WooCommerce not the Order Notes field.
We believe that this is best for your customers, as the tracking number naturally appears on the order completed email as shown below. Typically orders are marked complete once they are shipped.
Configure WooCommerce to Send Order Completed Emails
To make sure that your customers are receiving the order completed email (and the tracking number/URL in the notes, be sure to check your WooCommerce configuration that you are sending the email.
- Open your WooCommerce web portal.
- Go to Settings > Emails > Completed Order > Manage
- Check that the email is enabled and save your changes.
Optional: Use Shipment Tracking Plugin
Another option you can consider is to use the Shipment Tracking plugin from WooCommerce. In addition to updating the Customer Notes field as described above, we also update this plugin if it is enabled on your WooCommerce account.
