When creating an inbound, you will be directed to select a packing type. There are two options on this screen: Case-packed Products and Individual Products. It is important that you select the correct packing type to ensure Flexport receives and fulfills your products correctly.
Case-packed Products
If your manufacturer case-packs your product, we can split them up for you! Please let us know how many individual sellable units are in a case, and how many cases you have and we can let you know where to send them. Our warehouse will break down the case into the individual units that you are planning to sell.
Please ensure all the individual sellable units have appropriate barcode labels. If there is a label on the case-pack, and you are not selling the case-pack as a set, please ensure it is covered or removed. Even if the barcode is the same barcode you have selected for the product, it must not appear on the outside of the case-pack it is shipped in. Otherwise, a picker may scan that barcode and pick the entire case pack for an order meant for just one unit. This is extremely important.
The example below shows a case-pack of 6 water bottles that will be sold as 6 individual water bottles. As shown, the case-pack barcode on the outside is covered.
Individual Products
Selecting Individual Products means that your sellable products are individually packaged. There is no need for Flexport's warehouse to separate anything in order to find the saleable unit. In this case, let us know how many of each SKU you have, and we'll tell you how many of each to send to our locations.
An example of this is if you are selling individual water bottles. Ensure that each sellable unit has a barcode.
Sold as a Set
If you have a set of products to be sold as one individual unit, make sure it is labeled accordingly to prevent the sets being broken apart during packing by mistake. You must have a visible barcode label on the outside of the set, as well as a "Sold as a Set" sticker.
Flexport is not liable for mis-picks of products that are not labeled properly.
If you have a product that is both sold individually AND as a "packaged set", they must be separate SKUs--one SKU for a product sold individually and a separate SKU for products sold as a set. Sets will never be broken apart to be sold separately.
