Why does Flexport ask for a customs contact?

As the Importer of Record (IoR), your team must identify the individual within your entity who is responsible for import obligations, the payment of duties, and keeping in active communication with the supplier. This individual is also responsible for entry documents required by U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) for product classification.
