When using the Amazon Direct integration, we do not recommend self-fulfilling any Amazon FBM SKUs you have in stock with another fulfillment service because it can result in a double shipment of your items. This is because the Amazon Direct Integration is designed so that any FBM SKU you have in stock with Flexport will only use Flexport as the sole fulfillment provider for that FBM SKU. There are two alternatives we recommend if you need to also self-fulfill FBM Products that are in stock at Flexport:
Use a separate FBM listing
Flexport will not ingest or fulfill orders for SKUs that are not linked to a DSKU with inventory at Flexport. In other words, if Flexport does not have stock for an FBM SKU, we will not ingest and fulfill orders placed for that SKU. This makes it possible to create a separate FBM listing that you can use to self-fulfill or fulfill with another 3PL, but you will need to make sure that the FBM listing does not link to a DSKU with inventory via a SKU Alias.
Use a listing tool to connect Amazon
If you are using multiple fulfillment sources for the same FBM SKU then we recommend connecting Amazon with a listing tool instead of with the direct integration. Listing tools usually offer the ability to fulfill the same SKU from separate warehouses, locations, or with different shipping methods without risk of a double shipment.
You can find several listing tools integrates with in our Help Center Article: Supported integrations
Note: Removing the SKU Alias for a product to self-fulfill is only an option if you do not reconnect that SKU alias to a DSKU with inventory. If you remove an alias, self-fulfill an order, and then reconnect the alias for that FBM SKU, it will result in a double shipment for any recent orders over the last several days.
What should I do if a fulfilled order did not ingest or is delayed and I want to self-fulfill the order?
The only time we recommend self-fulfilling an order that did not ingest is if it was a "split order" that includes some products which have never been inbounded. If that is the case, the order will never appear in your Flexport Portal and you should instead fulfill it at your own warehouse.
In any other situation, do not self-fulfill the order since it can result in a double shipment. Please note that if you self-fulfill the order, you should not also create a manual order. Instead, contact our Support Team with the Amazon order ID so we can investigate. We'll work to get the order ingested as quickly as possible without the risk of a duplicate shipment.
