Overview
Flexport Fulfillment Centers (FCs) are not registered as Food Facilities with the FDA. This means that, unlike facilities that are formally FDA-registered, Flexport FCs are not authorized to store or handle certain food products that may require FDA registration.
If merchants submit products that do not comply with Flexport’s food safety standards, these products may be returned or disposed of at the merchant’s expense. Flexport is not responsible for any costs or losses incurred related to these products.
Allowed Products
Flexport can store products that meet general “food safe” guidelines without requiring Food Facility registration. These include:
- Nutritional supplements in secure, tamper-evident packaging (e.g., protein powders, dietary supplements)
- Non-perishable items, including items that do not require refrigeration or special handling
- Packaged goods that are shelf-stable and non-hazardous
Prohibited Products
The following product types are not permitted within Flexport Fulfillment Centers:
- Products requiring FDA Food Facility registration or specialized handling/storage
- Perishable food items that need refrigeration or temperature control
- Products with high spoilage risks, such as fresh produce or dairy

For more information, please refer to FDA guidelines on facility requirements for food transportation and handling. Flexport strictly adheres to these guidelines to ensure safety and compliance across our network.
